TORONTO CRAFT MINUTES

June Meeting:

Voodoo-Doll Sewing Workshop
with Catherine Stinson
Sunday, June 1, 3 pm
Trinity Bellwoods Park

Two picnic tables and a blanket-full of crafters showed up. Many t-shirts were chopped up to make dolls. We made stripey dolls, furry dolls, dolls with mohawks, aspara-guys and some of the men insisted on making "action figures" instead of dolls. No spells were cast. Nobody stuffed their doll with hair or toe-nail clippings. It was more of a cultural appropriation type of voodoo that we had going on. (with all due respect)

Please e-mail Sister Good and Sister Evil at thegood AT churchofcraft DOT org for more information.

We're a small (and growing) grassroots crafty collective rebelling against the culture of mass production. Not only are the things we create our own, but in this glossy, fabricated world, the simple act of creation is transcendent. i.e., we make things because it makes us happy.
