TORONTO CRAFT MINUTES

November Meeting:

Crochet Workshop with Trish
Sunday, November 2, 2 pm
at The Garbage Palace, 970 Queen St. W. (between Shaw & Ossington)

Every available seat in The Garbage Palace was filled for Trish's crochet workshop. We managed not to knock over any lamps, break any furniture, or spill any juice, so they have invited us back! Trish demonstrated extreme patience, ran around to help every faltering crafter, and amazingly managed to teach so many people to double crochet. Leah and Aidan had slaved over the quilt-flag for days, sewing all the pieces together (even the plastic bubble wrap one!) into a truly spectacular finished piece in time for its unveiling at the workshop. Everyone was very proud.

We're a small (and growing) grassroots crafty collective rebelling against the culture of mass production. Not only are the things we create our own, but in this glossy, fabricated world, the simple act of creation is transcendent. I.e., we make things because it makes us happy.
